Residents of an Eastern Cape township say the ongoing drought has made it difficult to maintain hygiene protocols. The province has been battling with one of its worst droughts since 2015. Although millions of rands have been allocated for drought relief efforts, there are still regions that go without water for weeks at a time. The problem has been compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic.
