Six Thai builders jump on wooden beam to sink concrete post into river bed

Amusing footage shows six Thai builders jumping on a plank to sink a concrete post into the water.

The bizarre 'low-tech' construction method was used by workers strengthening a floating river house in Phichit province, Thailand on August 10.

Mod Sap Settura said her neighbours were having their stilt house repaired to withstand the annual monsoon rainy season which brings tropical storms.

She said: "The workers are so creative with their limited tools. They don't have expensive equipment or materials but they can still produce quality results."

The creative men used their combined weight to sink the post into the river bed because they don't have the machinery that can do it in the water.

Buildings in the flood-prone region has previously been damaged when the river swells from heavy rain.

The country's rainy season with regular tropical storms and torrential rain lasts from the end of May until late September.
