Shopping mall and shophouse owners have been urged to give their tenants rental rebates from 30% to 50% for the next six months to help them ride out the effects of the Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak.

The Malaysia Retailers Association, Malaysia Retail Chain Association, Bumiputra Retailers Organisation, Asean Retail-Chains & Franchise Federation and Branding Association of Malaysia said this is similar to what the shopping malls and landlords have done for their tenants in Hong Kong and Singapore.
