Blind singer touches hearts with music

Blind musician Alfred Ho has not let his disability stop him from pursuing his dream of singing and performing. Ho, who went blind after a bout of measles when he was three, has been performing in Kuala Lumpur since 1985. He studied at the St Nicholas School for the Blind in Penang and was trained as a telephone operator before pursuing a career in music. Fans can catch him busking golden oldies at the AK Busk Stop, KLCC LRT (Concourse) in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur on most Thursday from 5pm to 7pm. The 68-year-old is known for his a repertoire of evergreen favourites and can also sing in various Chinese dialects, among other languages. He can be contacted at alfredho.music@gmail.com.
