2016 means different things for all of us. Over here in Malaysia, we ask millennials about their reactions to some of the major events that took place in the country over the past year.

In November, thousands of Malaysians massed at the Bersih 5 demonstrations in Kuala Lumpur to demand free and fair elections, among other things. It was the fifth Bersih rally since 2007, which saw even former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad attending. Bersih leader Maria Chin Abdullah was arrested before the rally and was later released.
