Over 1 million cats trafficked and killed for meat each year in Vietnam, animal welfare groups say

More than a million cats  are trafficked and killed for their meat in Vietnam each year, according to a report from two animal welfare organisations. The report prepared by Four Paws and Change For Animals Foundation was released on August 1, 2020. Vietnam had banned cat meat since 1998, but the restrictions were dropped under legislation passed in January.
