Democratic Party candidate Joe Biden has nominated Indian-American Senator Kamala Harris as his vice-presidential candidate for the presidential election in the US. Harris has stepped up her election campaign after being elected a Democratic Party candidate for the post of Vice President. He discussed his parents, Jameka and Indian immigrants and the importance of family in their lives in his first election speech in Delaware, California, on Wednesday. In her maiden speech, Kamala Harris recalled her Indian-origin mother Shyamala Gopalan.
