Congress leader and spokesperson Rajiv Tyagi on August 12 died after suffering a heart attack at his residence in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. He was immediately taken to Yashoda Hospital, where doctors tried to revive him, but failed, reports suggest. Congress party informed about the death of its leader on Twitter. The untimely death of Congress spokesperson has shocked many netizens as well as politicians. Tyagi had last appeared in a debate at 5 pm on August 12 on Aaj Tak. His last tweet, posted at 3.41 pm, was to urge his supporters to watch him live on TV at 5 pm. Congress President Sonia Gandhi spoke to Rajiv Tyagi's wife to express her condolences. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi, led the tributes on social media. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Rajasthan Congress leader Sachin Pilot, Kerala Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor and Karnataka chief DK Shivakumar also offered condolences Opposition leaders also paid their respect, with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav calling his death a huge loss. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan declaring himself stunned. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra expressed shock at the Congress leader's demise and said he had participated in a debate with him minutes earlier.
