Close encounter to the Grizzly Creek fire in Colorado

Headed west on I-70, a woman, Leslie Brown, in Glenwood Canyon, Colorado, was waiting for her daughter, a photographer for Colorado River Photos drives close to the Grizzly Creek fire on Monday (August 10).

"As you can hear from my voice I was a little panicked as she was on the bike path somewhere taking photos unaware of what was going on," Brown said. "I got off at grizzly and found her coworker who was also unaware of what was going on."

The fire started at about 1:30 p.m. Monday in the median between the eastbound lanes and the elevated westbound lanes at mile marker 120, near the Grizzly Creek Rest and Recreation area.
