Gregorian chant was traditionally sung by choirs of men and
boys in churches, or by men and women of religious orders in
their chapels. It is the music of the Roman Rite, performed in
the Mass and the monastic Office.
Although Gregorian chant is no longer obligatory, the
Roman Catholic Church still officially considers it the music
most suitable for worship.
The Antiphon was a type of liturgial chant common to
Gregorian and other Western chant repertoires and associated
principally with antiphonal psalmody. It is generally a relatively
short melody in a simple, syllabic style that serves as a refrain
in the singing of the verses of a Psalm or canticle.
Many in the Community will use this relaxing meditation music to find inner peace or use our relaxing music as yoga music for yoga, or as background music at the Office...
