Hong Kong media tycoon and activist Jimmy Lai was arrested on August 10, 2020, at his residence in Ho Man Tin. His top aide Mark Simon wrote on Twitter that Lai had been arrested for “collusion with foreign powers” under the new national security law recently imposed on the city by authorities on the Chinese mainland.
