Thousands of beer lovers are flocking to the Chinese city of Qingdao for “Asia’s Oktoberfest”, the largest festival of its kind in the region. With most of the world still grappling with the Covid-19 pandemic, the July 31-August 23, 2020, event in eastern Shandong province may prove to be the only such festival this year. The Qingdao International Beer Festival normally draws millions of visitors, but the pandemic and travel restrictions have reduced turnout.
