Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church was established in 1763 and is situated in the North of Saint Lucia. It serves the pastoral needs of Gros Islet, Grande Riviere and Monchy. The current pastor of the church is Reverend Monsignor Michel Francis. He is assisted by the Reverend Deacons Winston Taylor, Gerard Calderon, Anthony Louis, and Madison Stanislaus.
The rapid inflow of people to the greater Gros Islet area has expanded the parish boundaries. The Gros Islet area is one of the fastest growing and developing areas in St. Lucia which accommodates an inflow of people from various parts of the local and international communities. In the last couple of years, the church has seen a staggering growth in the number of households, activities and active groups.
The St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church is committed to the care of each member and to building up the community.
