Mechanic modifies car for disabled access in Malaysia

A mechanic in Malaysia has modified a car to make it more accessible to disabled drivers.

Footage shows a Perodua Myvi with a working automated swivel car seat that carries the driver in and out of the vehicle by pushing a few buttons.

Maman, who runs Syah Autoparts Kempas Utama in Johor Bahru, designed the seat specifically with disabled drivers in mind.

The talented mechanic had over seven years of experience in working in his garage.

He said: "We are a company that provides half-cut parts from Japan. Thus, the seat system you see came ready in a box.

"We only made the wiring and installed the seat into the old model Myvi."

He plans to make the innovation available to sell at RM 1,400 price (£257) package which already includes the seat and its installation.
