Recipe: Paneer butter masala with Bhupinder Kaur
As the name suggests, to make the paneer butter masala we use butter in the dish. To make it tad bit healthy, I prefer using a combination of both butter and oil. Also, I go easy on heavy cream, I don't prefer adding too much of it. If you do not have cream, milk is a great substitute for heavy cream.
Prep time: 15 mins
Cook time: 45 mins
Number of Servings: 4-5 persons


Ingredients


Paneer - 350 Gms (Cut into pieces)
Oil - 2 Tbsp
Butter – 2 Tbsp
Onion - 3 Nos finely chopped
Asafoetida– 1 pinch
Green Chilli – 4 Nos
Garlic – 1 Tsp finely chopped
Ginger - 1 Tsp grated
Tomato - 6 Nos grated
Red Chili Powder – 1 Tsp
Haldi Powder – 2 Tsp
Dhania Powder – 2 Tsp
Garam Masala - 1 Tsp
Grated Paneer – 50 gm
Kasuri Methi
Coriander Leaves chopped
Curd - 4 Tbsp
Fresh Cream – 4 Tbsp
Water
Salt to taste
Method:
1. Heat some oil and butter in a kadai, add Asafoetida and onions saute till onions are completely cooked
2. Add Garlic, Ginger, Green Chilli and Red Chilli Powder mix them properly and cook for 2 mins.
3. Add grated tomatoes saute till they are completely cooked
4. Add Curd, Kasuri Methi, Salt and grated paneer and mix them well and cook for 2 mins
5. Add paneer pieces to the gravy and cook for 2 min
6. Add fresh cream, chopped Coriander Leaves and add some water cover with a lid and cook for 4 to 5 mins
7. Turn off the stove and serve it hot.
