L&T Q1 net profit plunged 79%, revenue declined 28% amid COVID-19

For the first quarter ended June 30, Larsen & Toubro reported a 79 percent decrease in consolidated net income to 536.88 crore Rs, primarily due to COVID-19-induced lockdown.
Total sales dropped 27.19 percent in April-June quarter to 22,037.37 crore Rs, down from 30,270.94 crore Rs in the year-ago period.
Over the quarter gross spending fell to 21,367.63 crore Rs, from 27,615.71 crore Rs in the same prior fiscal year period.
