Mac Miller Tribute Project Seeks Fan Involvement to Help ‘Celebrate’ His Music On Tuesday, Warner Records announced that a yet-to-be-titled tribute project for Mac Miller was in the works. Miller tragically died of an accidental drug overdose in September 2018 at age 26. According to a brief statement, the project is being organized by Miller’s team to “celebrate” him and his music. Warner Records, via Twitter The statement also revealed that a toll-free number had been set up in order to collect “stories, thoughts and wishes” from fans. It has not yet been revealed how fans' input will be included in the project. If the tribute project turns out to be an album, it would be the second posthumous release by Miller. His family previously released his first posthumous album, ‘Circles,’ on January 17, 2020.
