I won't become a 'knee-jerk Sinophobe’, says UK leader Johnson about diplomatic tension with China
  • 4 years ago
As tensions between London and Beijing grow, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on July 20, 2020, that the UK had concerns about the new national security law China has imposed in Hong Kong and alleged human rights abuses of Uygur ethnic minority people in the nation's western Xinjiang region. But Johnson said the government needs to find a balance, as he insisted he would not be "pushed into a position of becoming a knee-jerk Sinophobe" on all issues regarding China. Video source: AP
