साल 2018 में उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य का कुशीनगर जनपद ओडीएफ घोषित कर दिया गया लेकिन जमीनी हकीकत सरकारी दावे से कोसों दूर है. शौचालय नहीं होने से जंगल जगदीशपुर टोला भरपटिया में लगभग डेढ़ दर्जन बहुएं ससुराल छोड़कर मायके चली गयीं हैं. दुल्हनों का कहना है कि शौचालय के बगैर उन्हें काफी दिक्कत हो रही थी. दुल्हनों का कहना है कि जबतक ससुराल में शौचालय नहीं बन जाता है तबतक मायके में ही रहेगी.
