In the study, researchers substituted plant-based protein sources for eggs.
They found the switch reduced risk for death from heart disease by more than 20%.
Replacing red meat with plant-based proteins also reduced the risk of heart disease death by up to 15%.
According to UPI, the data shows that plant-based diets have the ability to influence health outcomes.
