CC's new Covid-enforced rule change to use home umpires instead of neutral ones have failed miserably in the ongoing Test match between England and West Indies as Day 2 of the historic match saw as many as 5 umpiring howlers. West Indies were not only relentless with their line and lengths but also with their reviews. The first example of it came when Jason Holder and co successfully reviewed an LBW call on Rory Burns, which the umpire felt was doing down the stumps. As it turned out, it wasn’t.

खिलाड़ियों को डीआरएस का धन्यवाद करना चाहिए. रिव्यू सिस्टम की वजह से काफी कुछ निष्पक्ष हो गया है. वरना, अम्पायरिंग का स्तर इतना खराब हुआ है. जिसका कोई जवाब नहीं है. हमलोगों ने विश्वकप में भी देखा, एशेज सीरीज में भी और अब इंग्लैंड वेस्टइंडीज के बीच खेली जा रही टेस्ट सीरीज में भी. मैच के तीसरे दिन पांच बार वेस्टइंडीज ने अंपायर के फैसले के खिलाफ डीआरएस लिया गया और जिसमें चार बार अंपायर गलत साबित हुए. मैच के तीसरे दिन अपने कप्तान बेन स्टोक्स की बदौलत वेस्टइंडीज की लीड को 114 रनों पर ही रोक दिया. दोनों टीमों की बल्लेबाजी के दौरान पांच डीआऱएस का इस्तेमाल किया गया. फील्ड अंपायर रिचर्ड केटेलबोरोह और रिचर्ड इलिंगवर्थ के लिए दिन काफी मुश्किल साबित हुआ और दोनों पर सवाल उठने लगे हैं.
