Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a televised address to the nation, announced extension of the #PradhanMantriGaribKalyanYojana (PMGKY) for another five months amid the novel coronavirus pandemic. This move amounts to 90k Cr or 0.45% of GDP.

80 crore poor families will continue to get 5 kg of free wheat/ rice and 1 kg of dal till November. PM Modi also said the process of implementing ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ scheme was on.
