India opened the world’s largest temporary Covid-19 hospital in the capital New Delhi on July 5, 2020. On the same day, the country recorded its highest single-day spike in coronavirus infections as 24,900 new cases were reported. India is now the fourth worst-hit country in the world, with 673,165 cases and 19,268 deaths recorded as of July 6.
