Sri Lanka cricketer Kusal Mendis has been arrested after the vehicle he was driving hit and killed a 64-year-old cyclist at around 5am on Sunday. The man was a local resident who died as he was being admitted to hospital, according to reports. Mendis is set to be produced before a magistrate later today, police said. It is yet to be ascertained whether either of the two were under the influence of alcohol or not. The 25-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman has played 44 Tests and 76 ODIs for Sri Lanka.

श्रीलंका के विकेटकीपर बल्लेबाज कुसल मेंडिस का एक्सीडेंट हो गया है. पर सबसे बड़ी खबर ये है कि कुसल मेंडिस ने एक बुजुर्ग को कुचल दिया है. कुसल मेंडिस के साथ ये पहली मर्तबा हुआ नहीं है. इससे पहले भी वो एक बार बाइक से गिरे थे तो खबरों में आ गए थे. पर इस बार गैरजिम्मेदार होकर अपनी कार से ही उन्होंने एक बुजुर्ग नागरिक को कुचल दिया है. जोकि शर्मनाक बात है. कुसल मेंडिस को पुलिस ने गिरफ्तार कर लिया है. कोलंबो के पानाडुरा इलाके में श्रीलंकाई क्रिकेट टीम के इस स्टार बल्लेबाज ने बुजुर्ग को टक्कर मार दी. जिसके बाद पुलिस ने बल्लेबाज को गिरफ्तार कर लिया है. पुलिस के मुताबिक उन्हें जल्द ही कोर्ट के सामने पेश किया जाएगा.
