Now That You Know How To Bake Bread, Here's How To Make Hand Sanitizer
  • 4 years ago
By now, pretty much everyone should know that frequent handwashing is a good thing to do--especially in a pandemic.
But that's not always possible, and sometimes stores have already been emptied of hand sanitizer.
So, why not make your own? After all, you probably already know how to make your own banana bread and sourdough starter!
According to Business Insider, the recipe for homemade sanitizer is simple, but the proportions have to be correct for it to work well.
To make it, mix 2/3 cup of 91% isopropyl alcohol with 1/3 cup of aloe vera. Add eight to 10 drops of scented oil if you want to smell nice.
To make your own disinfecting wipes, take a paper towel, dab it in rubbing alcohol, and wipe down whatever surface you'd like to clean.
Finally, remember that while hand sanitizer kills most germs, it doesn't remove them from your skin. Wash your hands whenever possible!
