India China border issue which resulted in Martyrdom of 20 Indian soldiers is the reason for thousands of people of chinese origin living in China Town of Kolkata. They fear the same plight they faced after 1962 Indo Sino war. Their homes were pelted, they were detained and locals asked them to go back to china. These Chinese origin people who liked to be addressed as Indian Chinese claim they r they r Indian as they celebrate hindu festivals and speak Hindi and bengali and not mandarin, only their face and surnames are chinese. There were around 20000 indian chinese in china town kolkata but after the backlash of 1962 war majority of them shifted to Canada, hongkong, Australlia etc.
