During a briefing at the White House on June 29, press secretary Kayleigh McEnany answered a reporter's question about President Donald Trump retweeting a video containing a person shouting "white power" from a golf cart. McEnany said "He did not hear that particular phrase when he tweeted out the video." McEnany also commented on Mississippi removing the confederate emblem from their state flag, saying, "I would say that's a decision for Mississippi to make, it's commendable that they took this action in a lawful manner and took the appropriate steps rather than trying to tear down statues and monuments."
