India’s total number of confirmed coronavirus cases surpassed 500,000 on Saturday, June 27, 2020. The country’s Covid-19 death toll stood at 16,095 as of June 29, and authorities said they do not expect the pandemic to peak in India for several more weeks. Health experts say the number of cases in the country could rise above one million before the end of July.
