President of Gachon University awarded Lions Humanitarian Award

The Lions Clubs International a social welfare organization with some one-point-four million members worldwide has chosen the President of Gachon University, Lee Gil-ya, as the recipient of its Humanitarian Award.
Lee was recognized for her exemplary humanitarian efforts, such as free medical services and the establishment of medical research institutes.
Previous recipients include Mother Teresa and former U.S. President Jimmy Carter.
Lee says she will use the grant of 250-thousand U.S. dollars to help children with heart-related diseases, and to provide medical treatment for premature infants of migrant workers in South Korea.
