From fashion garments to protective gear: Bangladeshi factories turn Covid-19 gloom into boom

As much of the world went into lockdowns to curb the spread of the coronavirus, garment factories in Bangladesh saw millions of dollars worth of orders cancelled. But as the world's second-largest exporter of ready-made garments took a severe hit from the Covid-19 pandemic, some of the country’s mass producers of finished textile products for Western brands found a new lifeline by responding to the global demand for protective masks, gloves and gowns.
