Florida Faces Large Spike Coronavirus Cases
  • 4 years ago
Seven weeks after Florida Gov. Rick DeSantis reopened, the state faces a major spike in COVID-19 cases. State officials said in one day 8,942 new cases were confirmed. According to Gizmodo, in April Florida went into phase one, which meant avoiding non-essential travel and gatherings of groups larger than 10. Yet it also allowed bars and nightclubs with less than 50% of their sales from alcohol to reopen. Gyms also reopened with a 50% capacity and public parks and beaches were allowed to remain open if guests were 6-feet apart.
