BCCI rule states that any player who wants to play in domestic T20 leagues in other countries will get No Objection Certificate provided he announces retirement from all forms of domestic cricket including Indian Premier League. Pravin Tambe has put his name for the Caribbean Premier League players' draft but BCCI is unlikely to give him permission unless the 48-year-old announces retirement from Indian domestic cricket. Pravin Tambe rose to fame after he made his IPL debut at the age of 41.

प्रवीण तांबे, मौजूदा समय में शायद दुनिया के सबसे उम्रदराज क्रिकेटर होंगे जो अब भी लीग्स खेल रहे हैं. प्रवीण तांबे 48 साल के हैं. इस उम्र में तो खिलाड़ी कोच बन जाता है. पर प्रवीण तांबे हैं कि टी20 लीग्स खेलने के प्लान में हैं. इस साल प्रवीण तांबे को केकेआर ने खरीदा भी था. आईपीएल में ढेरों मैच भी खेल चुके हैं. पर प्रवीण तांबे का प्लान है कि वो सीपीएल में अपनी गेंदबाजी का जलवा दिखाएं. सीपीएल यानी कैरिबियन प्रीमियर लीग. ड्राफ्ट में उन्हें अपना नाम भेजना है. पर बीसीसीआई की शर्तों के अनुसार प्रवीण तांबे को पहले संन्यास लेना होगा. फिर जाकर उन्हें एनओसी मिल पाएगा. तांबे जब तक भारतीय घरेलू क्रिकेट से संन्यास का ऐलान नहीं करते हैं, तब तक बीसीसीआई उन्हें विदेशी लीग में खेलने अनुमति नहीं देगा.
