The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday accused the Congress of having received funds from the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi for the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and questioned whether it was a “bribe to lobby” for a free trade agreement between India and China. This came amid Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s repeated allegations of the ruling party “surrendering” Indian territory to Chinese aggression in Ladakh.

दरअसल इस संगठन की स्थापना साल 1991 में पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री राजीव गांधी के नाम पर हुई. इसकी वेबसाइट पर मौजूद जानकारी के अनुसार, यह स्वास्थ्य, साक्षरता, विज्ञान और तकनीक, महिला एवं बाल कल्याण जैसे मुद्दों पर काम करता है. इस फाउंडेशन की मुखिया सोनिया गांधी हैं. राहुल गांधी, मनमोहन सिंह, पी. चिदम्बरम, मोटेंक सिंह अहलूवालिया, संजीव गोयनका, अशोक गांगुली, प्रियंका गांधी वाड्रा इसके ट्रस्टी हैं. राजीव गांधी फाउंडेशन की स्थापना पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री राजीव गांधी के विज़न को पूरा करने के लिए साल 1991 में की गई थी.
