Germany and France have pledged to contribute more money to the World Health Organization in its fight against COVID-19.
The announcement comes less than a month after President Trump vowed to stop U.S. funding for what he labeled the "China-centric" WHO.
Germany promised to give over 560 million dollars in funding and equipment this year...while emphasizing the need for international cooperation in battling the pandemic.
France pledged some 100 million dollars to a WHO research center in Lyon as well as an additional 56 million dollar donation.
According to the WHO, Berlin's total contribution during the last budget cycle was some 3-hundred million dollars, while the U.S. provided 15 percent of the WHO's total funding, at almost 9-hundred million dollars.
