Icc champioms trophy 2002 was held in Sri Lanka. 12 Cricket participated in tournament which was divided into four groups.
Top team of group got qualified for semifinals.
Sri Lanka, Australia, India, and South Africa maked placed in semi final.
Semifinal between south Africa and India was very dramatic.
Replying 262 runs target of India South Africa was in very strong position 187 runs in 35 overs with lost of 1 wicket.
South Africa needed 74 runs in 90 balls when Harshalle Gibbs was on 116 not out.
Gibbs was very tired at that movement so he left ground.
This became chance for India to back in the match.
South Africa lost two back to back wickets because of which came under pressure and resulted in lost of match.
