Hidden workshop in Thai car park is home to prestigious snooker cue maker

A workshop hidden at the back of a warehouse car park is home to one of the world's most prestigious snooker cue makers.

O'Min Cues has been running for more than three decades, started by owner Somkiat Kulawattanaporn when he was just a teenager repairing equipment for friends.

The cluttered work yard in Minburi, on the outskirts of Bangkok, Thailand, now produces beautiful handmade cues for professionals from around the world.

''Soon after I started, many snooker players came to visit the shop, people from far away started visiting for their cues,'' said Somkiat, whose business uses his nickname 'O'Min'.

Fascinating footage from O'Min's workshop shows how his team still makes each cue by hand, sanding and shaping them before they are treated with coatings.

''In Thailand, 20 or 30 years ago, every athlete used my cues as well as athletes in many other Asian countries,'' added Somkiat.

''We make sure every product is high quality, always improving, stylish and up-to-date.''
