Ashada month is considered inauspicious according to Hindu beliefs. During this month, auspicious works are not done such as marriage, house entry etc. However, Puja recitation and fasting are considered auspicious in this month. On the one hand, religious and astrological reasons are given to consider this month as inauspicious and on the other side it has also presented its scientific and social reasons.

हिन्दू मान्यताओं के अनुसार आषाढ़ मास को अशुभ माना जाता है। इस महीने के दौरान शुभ कार्य नहीं किये जाते जैसे की विवाह, गृह प्रवेश आदि। हालांकि इस महीने में पूजा पाठ और व्रत आदि को शुभ माना जाता है। इस महीने को अशुभ मानने के पीछे एक तरफ धार्मिक और ज्योतिषीय कारण दिए जाते हैं तो दूसरी तरफ इसका वैज्ञानिक और सामाजिक कारण भी पेश किया है।
