Two House leaders score Atienza over bias allegations in ABS-CBN hearings

The chairpersons of two House of Representatives committees took exception to accusations of bias aired by lawmakers supporting ABS-CBN broadcast network’s bid for a fresh 25-year legislative franchise.

Reps. Franz Alvarez (NUP, Palawan) and Jonathan Sy-Alvarado (NP, Bulacan), chairman of the House Committee on Legislative Franchises and on Good Government, respectively, said both supporters and oppositors of the network giant’s franchise application are being given equal opportunity to interpellate ABS-CBN officials and their lawyers.
