Memorial ceremonies are being held across India as relatives and friends grieve for 20 soldiers killed in a June 15, 2020, border clash with China. One fallen soldier was remembered in an elaborate vigil and a wreath ceremony on June 17 in the northeastern city of Patna. The deadly clash followed a weeks-long stand-off involving troops along the disputed border between India’s Ladakh region and Chinese-held Aksai Chin.
