The move comes just hours after the North renewed threats of military action at the Korean border.The site was opened in 2018 to help the Koreas - officially in a state of war - to communicate. It had been empty since January due to Covid-19 restrictions. In a statement, South Korea warned it would "respond strongly" if the North "continues to worsen the situation".

उत्‍तर कोरिया के दक्षिण कोरिया की सीमा पर सेना भेजने की धमकी के बाद कुछ ही देर बाद केसोंग में जोरदार धमाका हुआ है और धुआं निकलता दिखाई दिया है। माना जा रहा है कि उत्‍तर कोरिया ने दक्षिण कोरिया की सीमा से लगे इस संयुक्‍त औद्योगिक कॉम्‍प्‍लेक्‍स में बने संपर्क कार्यालय को विस्‍फोट करके उड़ा दिया है। इस घटना के बाद परमाणु हथियारों से लैस उत्‍तर कोरिया और पड़ोसी दक्षिण कोरिया के बीच तनाव काफी गहरा गया है।
