The WHO is calling for a thorough investigation into what caused the recent COVID-19 outbreak in Beijing,...calling it a "significant" event.
Since last Thursday, the Chinese capital has reported more than 100 new cases and this is deemed especially concerning as Beijing didn't report any local transmissions during the previous 50 days.
The WHO is urging the Chinese authorities to share any information it has,... noting how Beijing is a large, connected city and home to over 20 million people.
Many countries grappling with a resurgence of cases,...the WHO also said any country could become an epicenter at any time and should be ready to stamp out new cluster infections with swift testing and tracing.
