The South Korean government will start accepting applications tomorrow for emergency support payments for workers put on unpaid leave.
These payments are part of the employment stability measures announced by the government in April.
Workers on unpaid leave will be eligible for up to three monthly payments of 500-thousand Korean won, for a total of about 12-hundred U.S. dollars.
The applications have to be made by the employer.
There are various conditions for example, the workplace must already have put its employees on at least a month of paid leave... and has to have seen revenue decline by at least 30 percent.
