After introducing a police reform bill on Monday,... Congressional Democrats kneeled for eight minutes and 46 seconds in memory of George Floyd,... whose death at the hands of a police officer sparked worldwide protests.
As well as kneeling, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer called for the passing of the bill,... which would lead to increased transparency and limit abuses by law enforcement.
Calling the new bill a "first step",... Pelosi said it would also forbid use of chokeholds and ban police from no-knock raids when serving drugs warrants.
