Instacart Announces Changes to Prevent 'Tip-Baiting'
iInstacart announced that it would change its tip policy, in an attempt to protect its shoppers from getting "tip-baited.".Tip-baiting is a gross kind of switcheroo where customers entice shoppers with the promise of a large tip. After delivery, they reduce the tip amount or even remove it altogether .In March, Instacart said that 0.5% of orders had their tip amounts reduced after delivery. After this change, any customer who removes a tip will be required to leave feedback explaining why.Any customers who "consistently" remove tips will be removed from the platform. The change comes the week after four U.S. Senators wrote a letter to the Federal Trade Commission about the practice. It's a shame Instacart has to change its policies to try to make it harder for people to be awful
