This was an important game and CSK needed to win it in order to make it to the knockouts of the IPL 2010. Kings XI Punjab chose the all-rounder Irfan Pathan to do the job for the team, he had 6 balls to bowl and 15 runs to defend (the 16th would have won CSK the game). The first ball of the over was a widish delivery by the bowler trying to make him reach out for it, so did the CSK captain and sliced it for a four. Then he took double. Now CSK needed 10 off 4 balls and Dhoni smashed two sixes in next two balls to win the match.

वैसे तो एमएस धोनी ने अपने करियर में कई यादगार पारियां खेली है. कई बार मैच फिनिश किये. अपने दम पर टीम को असंभव मैच भी जीता दिए. इंटरनेशनल क्रिकेट में तो कई बार धोनी ने ऐसा किया है. बात अगर आईपीएल की करें तो एक मैच याद आता है, जब धोनी ने विपक्षी टीम के जबड़े से अकेले दम पर जीत छीन ली. ये वाकया 2011 विश्वकप से पहले की है. तब धोनी की छवि दुनिया के बेस्ट फिनिशर के रूप में बन चुकी थी. और वो मैच ऐसा था जब धोनी का रौद्र रूप देखने को मिला और मैच जिताने के बाद खुद को धोनी ने गुस्से में शाबाशी भी दी थी. बात कर रहे हैं आईपीएल 2010 के उस मैच की जब धोनी ने इरफ़ान पठान के आखिरी ओवर में दो लगातार छक्के मारकर मैच जीता दिए थे.
