문대통령 "홍범도 장군 유해 모셔와 최고예우로 보답"

President Moon Jae-in has pledged that exceptional respect will be shown for the late Korean independence fighter Hong Beom-do once his remains are brought back to his home country and buried.
This was in a social media post Sunday marking the 100th anniversary of a key battle that took place in Manchuria at a site known as Bongo-dong, or in Chinese Fengwudong.
There, Hong Beom-do led Korean independence forces to victory, killing 157 Japanese troops and injuring some 200 others,... while the Korean forces suffered little damage.
Hong later died in Kazakhstan and is buried there.
Moon said that the victory at Bongo-dong gave the people the hope for independence,... and he highlighted that those forces included ordinary people.
In the struggle against COVID-19, he said, the driving force is also the people and their unity and solidarity.
