Cracker Barrel Will Start Serving Alcohol for the First Time Ever

All 664 of Cracker Barrel's restaurants have remained open during the pandemic.And 70% of the company's furloughed employees have put their brown and gold uniforms back on and returned to work. .Going forward, Cracker Barrel will also transition to a smaller, simpler menu than the one used in Before Times.But the biggest change is that, for the first time in its history, Cracker Barrel will serve alcohol in some of its restaurants.As of this writing, 20 locations in Florida are testing the new boozy menu.And it includes a selection of beer and wine, a hard cider, and orange and strawberry mimosas.Though pairing a Sunrise Sampler with a mimosa sounds perfect, not everyone is happy about the chain's intentions.Some customers find the brand's down-home image incompatible with alcohol service.Not only is it difficult to imagine washing down Uncle Herschel’s Favorite with a malted beverage, but alcohol also doesn't mix well with the wholesome, family-friendly image Cracker Barrel has crafted for itself over the years, State-Journal,Franklin, Kentucky.But the chain hopes the changes may help them rebound from a dismal third quarter, in which revenues fell by 41.5%.
