South Korea's latest government budget includes plans to develop a COVID-19 treatment within this year and start mass producing vaccines by next year.
To achieve that, the budget allocates around 82 million U.S. dollars.
South Korea is currently working on two possible COVID-19 treatments one using antibodies from patients who've recovered and another that would inject blood plasma from recovered patients.
Also, on Wednesday, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety gave its approval to the emergency use of the Ebola treatment remdesivir.
