A man was harassed at his home in California by police while they carried out a welfare check.

The clip, filmed on May 9 in Suisun City, California shows two police officers outside the home of Cyrah Hawkins raising their voices and allegedly accusing him of being a negligent parent.

"In the video former Officer Marler and his cohort Officer Conoma, arrived at my house looking for a negligent parent named 'Jissele' and her child who ingested nail polish remover. They were there for a welfare check but all that I received from them were racist remarks and complete disregard for basic humanity, human rights, and respect."

The male officer identified as Officer Marler has left the department according to a statement from the Suisun City Police department.
