China on Tuesday strongly reacted to US President Donald Trump's plans to invite India, Russia, Australia and South Korea to G7 summit, saying that any attempts to draw a "small circle" against Beijing will be "doomed to fail and become unpopular". G7 is the group of top seven developed economies. These include the US, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Canada. Heads of States of these countries meet annually to discuss issues of global governance, including climate change, security and the economy.

चीनी विदेश मंत्रालय के प्रवक्ता झाओ लिजान ने कहा कि, 'चीन मानता है कि सभी अंतरराष्‍ट्रीय संगठनों और कॉन्‍फ्रेंसेज को देशों के बीच आपसी भरोसे को बढ़ाने में मदद करनी चाहिए, दुनिया में शांति और विकास में बढ़ावा देना चाहिए।' उन्‍होंने आगे कहा, 'हम मानते हैं कि यह दुनिया में अधिकांश देशों के पास भारी बहुमत है और उनका रोल काफी अहम हो जाता है। चीन के खिलाफ कोई भी घेराबंदी पूरी तरह से असफल और अलोकप्रिय रहेगी।'
